Congratulations!

It’s as though we, the American people, have finally cleared our throats and stated that it is high time Congress listens to our wishes and obeys our will. We are not going to stand for illegal immigr…., Illegal Aliens hiding in plain view making a mockery of our laws and putting our citizens at a disadvantage any more. Furthermore, according to our Nation’s Founding Fathers the United States Government’s chief purpose is to provide us with sovereignty, and defense to assure the continuity of that sovereignty. By my observation, I feel that Congress has been grossly negligent in their duties and by god I’m by no means alone. All it took was a few polls stating Congress’s historic lowest ever approval rating for them to understand that we were in fact….displeased with them. It is absolutely shameful that it has come to this, and worse still when one really understands the reasons for Congress’s “giving in” to their constituents; Votes, that’s right plain and simple votes, not that the protection of American citizen’s rights was the right thing to do. Fear has forced them to obey our will; for some time now Congress has been hesitant to alienate Latino voters by enforcing our laws and controlling illegal immigration, but now all of the sudden, “why, the legitimate American citizens are actually angry that we, Congress, have failed to pass legislation to stop illegal immigration?” “What was that, our approval rating is what? I might not get reelected, screw the illegal aliens, hell ship ‘em back to Ol’ Mexico for all I care.” Too bad really that Congress didn’t shoot down the amnesty bill because it infringed on every American’s rights, but what ever the reasons, I’ll take it. Matter of fact, there is a nifty little bill which has been proposed in the House which is gaining strength, it is called S.A.V.E., keep your eye on it and tell your Congressman you like it, you can get their email addresses from my link to Project VoteSmart. I don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea, I am actually pro immigration, pro LEGAL immigration, for in the end we are a country of immigrants; but lets do it right else it really is a slap in the face of everyone who has come here legally and sought the American dream.

Nancy.

So what about Nancy Pelosi; does she really care about the atrocities the ethnic Armenians of WWI endured at the hands of the then Ottoman Empire? Seems quite odd that she would be so persistent about labeling those acts genocide all these years later. Stranger still perhaps is the fact that she is leveling the accusations at a nation (Turkey) which did not even yet exist at the time the atrocities were committed. Even as Turkey has said they will evict US forces from a critical base in Turkey's southwestern region, Pelosi has remained suspiciously rigid and defiant saying repeatedly that the Armenians deserve justice! And so they do, but not now and not at the cost of our efforts in the Middle East. She knows, I fear, that if we as a Nation label the Turks as genocidal maniacs and we are evicted from the base there that we will lose the ability to enforce the no-fly-zone and we will lose critical northern supply routes into Iraq. SO is she advancing the Socialcrat's defeatest agenda, or is she simply the careing humanitarian we all know her as. Only time will tell.

Would They Be Proud?

The merits of our national documents, namely the US Constitution, are always debated; with some feeling mis(or un)represented by the document, while others still believe the Constitution to have been a writing of extraordinary foresight and necessary flexibility. I feel that the world was an incredibly different place when the Constitution was penned and that the creation of a document which can still be relevant to the trials faced today was no less than miraculous. The founders did not create a constitution outlining what they wanted, but rather what they did not want; you see, our Fore Fathers were no strangers to tyranny and flagrant dishonesty so they sought to create a government where such inequities could not flourish. Sadly, somewhere along the way we, the people, have forgotten what it is to be American; someone has lied to us and we believed them. The Government it seems is no longer "of the people, for the people and by the people." but rather now "of the government, for the government and by the government.". If the Founders where alive today, I think they would be astounded most by the way in which we have lost our individualism. Americans today seem to take no and want no responsibility for their lives; when this is the case, personal pride is invariably the next victim in a society wrought with atrophy. If the government holds everone's hands and takes control of their lives, their decisions, their morals and their passions than the people will loose all sence of self worth and society will ultimately become completely and utterly self loathing. It's a catch 22 of the worst kind, the more you repress a persons sovreignty, the less he wants self reliance.

The spirit of this great land is not dead however, though socialist bureaucrats have tried to stamp it out like a dying ember in the night; it is merely sleeping, unstirred even by the atrocities of September 11. So then I ask, how to wake a sleeping giant? Will it take another Pearl Harbor, and if so let it come quick and for gods sake, let it be final.
